Company – CleanFiber, a High-Growth Green Building Materials Company

Location – The company is based in Buffalo, NY with planned nationwide expansion. Candidates for this role should be based in or willing to relocate to Buffalo, NY.

Role & Compensation

You will create and oversee all aspects of the internal accounting operations and will report to the company’s VP, Finance. On joining the organization, you will take responsibility for:

• Supervise senior and junior accounting staff to accuracy and timely completion of General Accounting processes, the G/L, cost accounting, and the financial close
• Maintain the general accounting function to ensure all month, quarter, and year end reports are completed timely and accurately.
• Play critical role in establishment and management of internal controls
• Accuracy on taxes and reporting
• Work with external auditors to support year-end financial audit activities
• Play a critical role in helping prepare the organization for a potential future IPO
• Support the roll-out of multiple production facilities across the US

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and will include reasonable current compensation along with a meaningful equity stake in a venture with very significant upside.

Requirements

The right candidate will bring deep experience in these areas:

• Standards: Strong familiarity with GAAP standards and financial reporting. Preferred experience with design and implementation of ERP system
• Experience Across a Range of Scales and Vantage Points: We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with the high paced environment of a disruptive startup, but can understand the mindset of large and small counterparts as we rapidly scale
• Hands on Accounting Experience: Proven ability to set accounting strategy and lead accounting initiatives (e.g., defining chart of accounts, implementing revenue recognition, creating and maintaining financial dashboards, implementing process and procedures to help with quick month/year end closes, etc.)
• Technical Skills – advanced excel user with deep analytics capability
• Educational Requirements: BS in Accounting or related field
• Experience in a manufacturing business: Highly Preferred

Nice-To-Have Experience:

• Experience as an assistant controller or controller of a corporate accounting department
• Experience in a high growth environment
• Experience in publicly held companies
• Good working knowledge of NetSuite
• CPA
